My Husbands Dream

Driving around one day we seen this truck in a car lot. Of course it being a Ford, we had to stop and look at it. It is a 6 door extremely extended excursion. If you can see the price tag, it is only pocket change of $95,000. We were told that it took $50,000 just to stretch it out like that.

Even the rims are cool! So my husband says.

Could you imagine the gas on this thing. Every 20 miles you'd have to stop and fill up.

So Done With Snow

It is another day of snow. I am so ready for spring. I like the snow at some point, but I am tired of being cold all the time.

My little mushrooms are about buried, their little noses covered in snow.

I did get a couple cool pictures while I was out playing with my camera.

The thickness of the snow on the pine.

Emily's little snowman, actually looks like a snail :)

And just a random picture of one of my wind chimes, which were really singing today.

Tax Time

Oh that favorite time of the year that we all love. The refunds, or lack thereof. As we get older and our children move out, our refunds get smaller and smaller. But hey, we haven't had to pay in for several years.

Then to decide what to do with the money. Do you use it for something frivolous? Maybe a new computer. Or pay bills? I know a few people that use it to pay property taxes. Either way, it is something that has to be done.

Sick Day

Spent most of my time home in bed, seems like I slept forever. I feel a bit better, but not good.
So to make me feel better, I took pictures of flowers that I purchased from Wal-mart. Yes, Wal-mart. Not exactly the best source of flowers, but they were just what I wanted.

I am not a big fan of roses, I would rather have them in my yard than a big bouquet. I prefer to have a mixed bouquet, possibly with a rose or two mixed in.

But I favor carnations more.
They just smell better and I just think that they seem to last longer. I am looking forward to spring this year. Last year I didn't plant anything in my gardens.

Tired of Snow

It has been a quiet Sunday. Was planning on taking a road trip, but decided to stay home due to the snow. This is about the only thing I have to post today.

Someday interesting will come in to play.

Rough Week

So another day missed. I was so tired last night that I just didn't want to do anything. It is rough when you have four weeks off from work. It was such a long work week, and I even had a day off in between. One more reason I need to get off my tukus.

Although I did go out and take a picture of the moon. Didn't turn out so well, but I think I need to do it with a tripod. Which is what I wanted to do tonight, but guess what...no moon.

So here is the result of last nights pictures, the first one is a slow shutter night option, took 5 pictures at once and combined to make one, and the last two are a night option with a fast shutter, but would be best if I had a tripod to keep it still.

I knew it was going to be hard to try and find something interesting to blog about, especially in winter and short days.

Just Give Me Something to Blog About...

Admit it, you sang that didn't you. Maybe in the voice of Bonnie Raitt? In case you are too young..

Which is why the title. I knew that I would have difficulty trying to come up with interesting things at this time. Not that any of my blogs are interesting, but hey, it's something.

So my oldest daughter was here with her boyfriend today. They don't have internet at home so they come suck off of mine. It's ok though. I guess they came over to update a game on XBOX 360, then play it online. Did a little rearranging in my room downstairs, too bad they didn't hook things back up the way they were supposed to. I told them to leave the tv where it was, but they didn't bother to hook anything into it.

One is on the XBOX and the other, a laptop. And they had no light on, that is just the flash from my camera.

Wednesday Null

Today was one of those days where nothing happened. I was busy, yes. Taking my dog to get x-rays done on his knee, finding out he is going to need a special surgeon for it. Poor thing. Medical bill for pets are getting just as expensive as people.

Since I really have nothing to share, I will post a pictures of the sunset when we went for a drive the other night. I really enjoy my camera.

Baby, It's Cold Outside!

Today was one of the coldest days of the winter season, waking up to temperatures of a -10 degrees.
This doesn't include a windchill that was sometimes -20. My poor vehicle, whom I like to call Bertha, is getting up there in age and although she started, it took a few second for her engine to actually turn over. I hope this freeze fest doesn't last long.

These are pictures of my windows, all that ice buildup. Definitely need some new windows!

Made It Through A Monday

Going back to work today was rough. I thought that I had kept myself active enough to not endure such pain when I got back. Well, apparently not. I can barely walk from room to room. My husband has been great and cooked supper and had coffee ready for me when I got home. He didn't have to work today. He's lucky and gets a paid holiday today.

With that said, I didn't get out to get any new pictures today, which I knew would be challenge when I went back to work. Maybe once I adjust to working again it will be easier.

So here is my Delilah. She's in my lap, a very rare occurrence. She usually get's up there and then two seconds later jumps down. Especially if I don't pet her right away. Mike got her for my birthday a few years ago, his Mom picked her out, and then eventually named her. Her most active time is when I am sleeping.

Modern Day Windmills

We headed southeast yesterday, and over in that area are windmills (or wind turbines). Here is an article that describes the interest in windmills today Wind Turbine Farms. Usually when you see one, you see many.

They don't look that big, until you get close to one. We always remark if we could hang on to one of the blades, how long we could do it. They look like they are going so slow, but would be different up close.
There are a few areas in Wisconsin, mainly eastern areas. This area is by Cambria and Freisland. There is a big "farm" by Brownsville and Waupun.

Ice Wind Surfing?

Took a little drive today simply because we can. :) Ended up in Fond du Lac, Starbucks you know. They have a nice park there that is usually pretty crowded in the summer. A lot of weddings go on there. They have a gazebo and a lighthouse that you can go up in. Lake Winnebago is huge!
This is a panoramic view of the lake, and it is only half of it.  It doesn't look like the lake if frozen over, but some very adventurous people were either snowmobiling or fishing. Crazy!

At first glance, this looks like a sail boat cruising in the water. It is actually skiing across the ice, and they are going pretty darn fast also. We figured that they were going at least 40 to 50 mph. It took them awhile to get going. We watched as they got off a few times to push, hoping that the wind will pick it up.

It was quite nice there today and definitely going to make the trip sometime in summer

The Project

I bought this shelf at Kmart a couple days ago. And as always, it is an assemble at home. Always fun.
All these pieces laying around, and you should see the parts package. All the screws and such in bubble packs with cardboard back, so when you open one, and then another, everything falls out.
But we worked on it without too much trouble and got it put together.

It's going to go into the bathroom for some extra storage space. It will eliminate a plastic rolling cart that shows everything.

All about Gimli

My oldest daughter has a dog that is a mix of chihuahua and terrier. She named him Gimli, I guess from some character in the Lord of the Rings series. And, hyper, which is typical of a terrier. I am not sure how old he is at this point. I couldn't get him to sit still when I was trying to take a picture.

He has a fascination with Skippy's mouth. I finally got one where he actually looked at me without coming to me.

He is sitting on the edge of the couch, watching his momma play World of Warcraft. Whining because she won't pay attention to him. :)

Friar Tucks

Maybe it is time that I start going back to work. My days are running together and I am not sure what day it is. I can't believe I just said that. I don't want to go back to work. There was so much I wanted to do and didn't do half of it. This week has been really hard to even want to get out of bed.

Yesterday I satisfied my craving for french onion soup. We went to Friar Tucks. This place has one of the best french onion soup that I have ever tasted. All the waitresses are dressed in brown sac looking things. Like the picture here. Their serving sizes are pretty large, so we usually end up taking half a sandwich home. The menu consists mainly of sandwiches and hamburgers.

Look at this soup. All that cheese (almost too much, almost). Croutons underneath, and although I am not a big onion eater, this has nice flavorful onions.

Eye Am Watching You!

So this little doozy is not so little. In fact it is pretty darn big. I was pretty impressed when I took this picture because we were moving, and I just took the camera and snapped a shot. Dead center and clear. This was from my smaller camera and was taken around Christmas time.

If you can see to the side of the eye, this company does alot of large statues.

I really need to get out, so far, this blog hasn't been very interesting. But, I am trying.
That is the whole point for me doing this.

I hoping things would get a bit better when the weather gets warmer.

Also I want to get a camera bag that is not to obvious. I have seen some neat ones that won't look like I'm carrying a camera.

Another Missed Day

This is what I am afraid of. Committing to something and not finishing. Last night I just didn't want to do it, and I need to stop that. I know that it will be difficult to get something interesting when I get back to work. Hopefully that won't be until next week. I am not eager to get back, that's for sure.

My picture for today is my dog Skippy, again. He is just so darn cute. Decided to take him for a ride He hasn't had one for a long time. As you can see he is doing what dogs always do.

Interesting Night

It has been a very interesting night. We went to a company diner (for Mike). Was a lot better than what I expected it to be. It has been a long time since I laughed that hard. I also have some interesting video, thanks to Emily. And again, I didn't have my camera with. I should just learn to carry it with me.

We had prime rib on the grill for dinner, with some blt salad, tuna salad, fruit salad and some awesome potatoes. I asked the woman what was in them, but I didn't write it down. Maybe I can get Mike to get it from her hubby later.

A Missed Day

I missed a post, I was so tired last night after we got home. So here is an early day post. We went to TGIFridays. Although it is not one of my favorite places, it was a nice meal. The pictures were taken with my iPod. I remember a woman at Walmart when I was looking for a camera for my daughter a few years ago. The woman at Walmart had said to get her a camera phone because the picture quality was as good as a camera. This is why I don't but any electronics at Walmart.....

This, however, is what made the day. Vanilla bean cheesecake. And yes, it was good. Too good.

I also got my late Christmas gift, and early birthday gift, and next Christmas gift. And next birthday, so forth and so on. I will have a picture of it in the next post. It is really too much.
