Memorial Day 2013

Memorial Day, a day to remember those who died while in the service. A solemn day, if you actually get past the three day weekend, the BBQ's, camping and party's. I don't believe that I know anyone personally in my family that served or died in any past war.

The picture above is from the cemetery that my dad is in. I don't know anyone in this area, but you can see that the flags are placed at the stones of those who served.

Arlington

I would love to visit Arlington someday. Emily was fortunate to see it this spring.
There will never be enough words to express the feeling you get when you think about history and all the lives that were lost. Where would we be without it? Would life be the same? No one will ever know. Did you ever wish you could go back in time, even for a moment, just to see? Maybe we don't want to see. Reading it in history book would be good enough.
