Happy Birthday Kevin

Yesterday my brother in laws birthday. He turned 43 I believe. I couldn't be there to celebrate his birthday at one of his favorite restaurants, but we did stop at the camper on our way to Menards. Mike had bought a donut, with the intent to put a candle on it. Well I wanted to put the whole box of 24 candles on it, and succeeded. Sort of.

What started out as a kinda funny idea turned into a burning fiasco, I am sure that if you are reading this you are thinking to yourself, well duh! If I would have thought it out better it would have been ok. Like taking it to Kevin and then lighting it. But no, we wanted to light it before he got it. See the paper towel under it, well the wind blew that up into the candle. Quickly distinguished, we then used a plate...a Styrofoam plate. I know you are smacking yourself in the head now. I know it would have still been ok if I could have lit all the candles faster, but I couldn't, and so one hot drop of wax from the first lit candle and....

...donut tar tar. Went up in flames faster than I could throw it in the ground. I never claimed to be a genius. LOL.

All in all I believe he had a good time. His granddaughters were there so that always makes him smile.

Emily at the Midwest Horse Fair

This weekend was the Midwest Horse Fair and Emily was in the Donkey and Mule section. She was supposed to ride a donkey named Darla, but she had an issue, so she ended up riding Judy.

Judy was not so calm when it came to the crowd clapping. In fact she didn't like it at all. I am glad that Emily was able to handle Judy, because she took off in a fit.

Other wise they had a cute little baby that was only 5 weeks old.

There were hundreds of vendors in the exhibition hall. They were selling everything. Of course saddles and tack, combs, reigns, just about everything that you needed for a horse. But then they has boots and clothing. Purses. Just about everything. I know I didn't even make it through the whole area. I was trying to find a nice purse, but I just couldn't find the right one. I am so picky when it comes to purses.

Although it was windy, and it started out snowy and cool, the sun did come out and it turned out to be a nice afternoon.

It is the 2nd week in April in good ole Wisconsin. While others are enjoying some beautiful spring weather, we in the middle of the country are dealing with freezing rain. I believe it is the edge of what they call Winter Storm Walda. Since when did they name winter storms. Even thought it now is cold, and we have some freezing rain, it is nothing compared to what South Dakota is getting. I believe it has snowed for two days now.

I was outside when I got home from work because I seen a bluebird flying around, was trying to get a picture of it because on such a gloomy day at today, the colors were really standing out. But alas, when I went to get the zoom lens, I could not find it anymore. But I was surprised at all the birds that were out and about. I would've thought they would be in hiding today. In fact, there are several out in the yard now, and they are singing. It seems like they are right outside my window. It is still nice to hear on such a nasty day.

I was so hoping that the sun would come out today. Although the temperature is in the 40's it is not as warm as it was forecasted to be.

My idea for my blog is not going as I was hoping it would. I wanted to do things that would be interesting to me and my family. But again, we are bogged down with the needs of life, not the wants. There was a monster truck show in Green Bay that we were seriously thinking about, but that is as far as it got.

I am patiently waiting to go to my new job. It's time for a change, I believe that my current area is bogging me down also. I will miss working with some of the people, but a couple, not so much. It's funny how people change over time.

A new road ahead of me.

I always said that if I was ever going to leave line 2 it would be out the door to a new company. Well that just doesn't seem to be the case. So here is to a new road less traveled for me.

So it has come to this, I have fallen behind on my blog. What once was daily, then a few times a week has now fallen to once a week. Just wasn't myself last week, didn't do anything. I am hoping now that the weather is starting to get better that things will start to change.
