A Sign of Spring

It has been such a long and drawn out winter, I don't think that it would ever end. But, alas, we have proof, one extra large bug splat. It came with a loud thud too.

It was quite nice today, I sure hope mother nature isn't going to be pulling no April fools joke and tease us.

A Little Bit Jealous :/

Tomb of The Unknown Soldier

Emily finally came home after what seemed like a very long bus ride. They ran into some bad weather and pulled over until it passed. That is alright with me.

She has got some great pictures, the pictures displayed in this blog were taken by Emily.

Changing of the Guards

She also has a video of the changing of the guard by the Tomb of The Unknown Soldier.

I know that I would have been awe struck. Arlington is definitely something that will be on my yet to be made Bucket List.

Methinks....Eww

Walking in Walmart tonight I come across the extensive Easter candy selection conveniently scattered throughout the store. A nice display of M&M's; peanut butter, milk chocolate, peanut and best of all carrot cake.

Yumm....carrot cake M&M'S.

Pardon me whilst I go get my celery flavored jello to go with it.

Oh What a Night~

I told my husband that I wanted to go out on Saturday, maybe to the local bar and just have a couple of drinks. We don't drink often, less than often, but we just wanted to go out and just socialize. Emily is on her trip, and we had no worry's.

Come to find out that the local bar that we wanted to go to was having a "beach party." Also, that a few other people that we knew were going. We got there a little early and there was not much going on. But once 8:00 hit and the music started playing, it got packed.

There isn't anyone here from our group in this picture, and I did that out of respect for them. But you can see how packed it is. We kept ourselves to the corner. I wish I could add some more pictures, but I really can't. I usually try to get peoples permission to add them.

Except for this one ------------------------------->

She knows who she is.

Either way I had met some great people.

There She Goes

To go on a trip of this magnitude at such a young age is exciting and scarey at the same time. To New York and Washington D.C. Areas that I may never get to see. But it was hard watching her go. Sure she has been gone to or with grandma somewhere, but never like this. I know that she will be ok, and I know that she will have a wonderful time. But that doesn't mean as a mother that I will not worry until she comes back.

Ready to load.

Waiting to load.

Do you have your travel buddy?
I know that there are places that she is so excited to see, and I hope that they will have enough time to be able to view it all.

Quiet Week

There is not much going on around here except snow, snow and more snow. Today is a nice sunny day, although still colder than a witches titty out there.

Last night was my daughters choir concert. I tested out my new camera with a panoramic view. Not exactly quiet when taking a panoramic photo.

I see that I cut off some of the kids heads, I tried again, but I chopped off more.

And here is my friend and co-worker Dodi. I didn't really plan on putting her in my blog, but since I have been picking on her about it, Here ya go.

I kinda think she likes me a little to obsessively; I think the tattoo on her cheek gives it away.

What To Do On A Lazy Sunday

It is cold and rainy/soon to be snowy outside. I have done the usual clean up the house and laundry. Thought about going somewhere, but that was a very short thought. Since I worked yesterday, I just want one day that I didn't have to step outside. Besides, Mike had re-caulked the tub and we have 25 hours in which we have to wait to use it. Not going anywhere without a shower.

So here is my lazy Sunday activity. Plant Tycoon. It's about as boring as boring can be, but I love it. You plant a seed and watch it grow. The good thing is is that it doesn't happen instantly, or even in 10 minutes. Usually about 30+ minutes for them to grow, and in that time I can get things done. Works for me.

Heat Source?

Do you ever find that your house is cold? Do you have pets. Well I think that these pets soak up what ever heat source that we may have.

Seriously though, our fat cat Delilah like to sleep on the heater vents, all the time. I wonder how she can stand the heat all the time. Skippy does that too once in awhile, but he completely covers the vent to the point no air can come out. Well I guess the animals have to stay warm somehow.

Sometimes There is Peace

Sunset on the way home.
There are just time in our lives that even though you are stressed, depressed, over worked, or what have you, that for just a moment, you feel at peace.

This happened on the way back from a grueling shopping trip, just looking at the scenery as it passed by. I had a moment of utter peace. For a moment, there were no worries. I didn't think about anything except how beautiful the sunset was.

I am so ready for the snow to be gone. And yet, we are under another winter storm watch with a possibility of 6 to 12 inches. Ugg, Spring hurry up!
